Connecting the Global Philatelic Community: Colnect’s Visit to the Asian Stamp International Exhibition 2026 in Bandung

The Asian philatelic world recently witnessed one of the most prestigious gatherings of the year. The Bandung 2026 Asian International Stamp Exhibition, held under the patronage of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP), successfully took place from August 27 to 31, 2026, at the historic Graha Pos Indonesia in Bandung.

Organized by the Indonesian Philatelic Exhibitors Association (IPEA) and supported by the Ministry of Communications and Digital of the Republic of Indonesia alongside PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), this landmark event commemorated the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

Featuring participants from 22 countries and over 1,300 display frames across various competitive classes, Graha Pos Indonesia—the historic venue that hosted the iconic World Youth Stamp Exhibition Indonesia '96—once again became the vibrant center of international philately.

Representing Colnect, I had the pleasure of visiting the exhibition on its final day on August 31, 2026. It was also a fun moment as Frognector, Colnect’s official mascot, virtually met Maung Bodas, the official mascot of Bandung 2026 FIAP, marking a memorable crossover between our global community and local Indonesian philatelic heritage!

Connections on the Final Day

Despite the tight schedule of the final day, the event provided invaluable opportunities to exchange ideas and strengthen bonds within the collecting world

It was an honor to meet Mr. Adrian Kurniawan, Executive General Manager of the Bandung Main Branch Office (KCU Bandung) at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), alongside Mr. Gita Noviandi from the Indonesian Philatelic Association (Perkumpulan Filatelis Indonesia - PFI). I also had a warm and insightful meeting with Mr. Hocky Hayanto, a senior philatelist from Semarang, A special highlight of the day was catching up with fellow collectors from Central Java, including dedicated Colnect member Mr. Muji and his friends. Meeting active members in person always reinforces how passionate and connected our global community truly is. On the international front, I had the chance to greet Mr. Shih Cheng Hsiao from Taiwan and interact with collectors from across Asia who gathered for the grand finale of the exhibition.

Fostering a Global Network for Collectors

Attending the conclusion of the Bandung 2026 FIAP exhibition reaffirmed Colnect's commitment to building strong, personal connections within the collector community. Events like this prove that the passion for preserving postal history and collecting stamps continues to bridge cultures and cross international borders.
